I'm sure that it is no surprise to all of you that being new parents with triplets, we are presented with lots of new challenges. Not only are we continually adjusting to the new level of responsibility that comes with taking care of three new members of the family, but it is easy to get wrapped up in what can be an exhausting cycle of eat, sleep, change... eat, sleep, change... eat, sleep, change... well, you get the picture. I will admit, there are times when we feel like this early stage of parenting, which includes many sleep deprived nights, will never end. But lately, God has given us a whole new sense of joy and excitement that has come in an unexpected form... their precious smiles.
Over the past few days, all three of our little bundles of joy have had times when they get into a great mood, and will lay there and just smile over and over at the one who is holding them. And as their father, there is nothing more special to me after a long day at work, to come home, pick up one of the babies, and see them grin from ear to ear as soon as they hear my voice. These smiles have gotten us through the longest of days, and the even longer nights. And suddenly the endless cycles don't seem so endless anymore. It reminds us that these babies are gifts from above, and that there is great joy in taking care of them.
I hope these few pictures can share with you the same joy we get every time these babies bless us with their smiles.

Oh, they're so BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteAnd they look so happy, nurtured, and healthy--you guys are doing a fabulous job with them. I know it can be hard when they start out so small, but it really looks like they've gained a lot of weight (which having a couple that started on the small side myself, I know what a relief it is when they start chubbing up).
So, so happy for you!
You've captured PERFECTLY the joy that those little smiles bring. They are something magic, aren't they?

I think of you often at 3am... but some night soon we'll all be sleeping. Unfortunately, that means our little babies will be getting big. Enjoy it while it lasts!
They are all SO precious!!! You guys are obviously doing a great job being parents to three! And seriously, before you know it, you will suddenly realize you've slept through the night and the little ones did too and great rejoicing will happen ... and then it will be the norm. :)
