Kindergarten!!!!

What??? How are we at this point already. Just a minute ago, they were like this....

And NOW.......

They might as well be 20! I know, I know, it will only get worse. But this was a big landmark in the household. Kindergarten opens so many new doors and I found myself getting pretty sentimental about it. I did the normal mom thing and cried as I dropped them off on their first day. I was proud that I held it together until after they were out of sight, but it definitely hit me that my babies are not babies any more. So yes, I hugged Josie a lot that day and thanked God that I still have one more baby at home! :) But I couldn't be more excited for these three. They are very ready for this next step and I know they will love it! I'm one proud mom already!!

Summer Fun!

This summer just flew by for the Hesses! It was filled with lots of fun things, even though the warm weather got a slow start this year. But we managed to squeeze out quite a bit of the short season and made lots of wonderful memories. As the triplets are getting older, more activities have started. This spring, Kayla tried out gymnastics and absolutely loved it! She was really fearless. She would run, jump, flip, and try anything her coach challenged her with. She wasn't afraid to fall down and would get right back up and try again. I was so proud of my little gymnast!
The boys decided to try their hand at t-ball this year. The league did a great job and they got to play 2 games a week and learned quite a bit. By the end, they could hit the ball when it was pitched to them! It was so much fun to come and watch them in their little uniforms and cheer them on. They are already begging to do it again next year!

One of the highlights of our summer was our trip to Chattanooga to visit family and friends. We all had a GREAT time! We spent nearly every day in water, visited the local aquarium, went up to see our old stompin' grounds at Covenant College, and of course being Hesses, we ate great meals every day! The only hiccup in our trip was that we got rear ended on the way down. While no one was hurt and we were able to drive it, we came home to find out that the van was totaled so it turned out that we had to buy a new van this summer too. But we were thankful that the accident didn't interfere with the fun of our trip and spending time with some of our favorite people made the trip a complete success!

Lots of fun in the water, and having cousins with us makes it even better!

And seeing aunts and uncles was definitely the highlight of the vacation!

This summer also had a bonus mini-vacation to Wisconsin with good friends. Although the weather wasn't very cooperative, you would have never known because the kids were unphased by it. With boat rides, tubing, riding bikes, and good food every day, they still had a blast! Rich and I even got some time to relax, which was amazing. It was a great close out to summer!
