Our Three Little Ones

We have heard from others time and time again, "I can't imagine having three babies at once". It seems like a lot of work at times, but at the same time, we honestly can't imagine having just one. It is so much fun getting to know these babies, especially now that they are more responsive, and starting to recognize people and places. Each one is changing constantly, but each in their own way, and at their own pace. At first it was easy to see them as "The Triplets", but more and more we see them as individual babies, each with their own personality. We know what makes each one of them laugh, and when one starts crying, we can tell who it is just by listening.

Here is a little bit about each of them:

Daniel

Daniel is definitely a very happy baby. When he wakes up he rarely starts crying. We will hear him in his crib talking to his teddy bears, but he doesn't fuss much. And when he sees us for the first time in the morning, he lights up, and doesn't stop smiling. In fact, his morning feeding has become the most difficult because he doesn't want to eat. He would rather just play with us, laughing and talking non stop. He is like this at times throughout the day, but it is most evident in the morning. Daniel is also somewhat of the leader of the pack, being the first to reach certain milestones. He was the first to sleep through the night, the first to start smiling and laughing, and our big news for him in this post is that he was the first to roll over!

Braden

When we first brought Braden home, we definitely thought he would be our most active and vocal child. He made noise constantly, even in his sleep! However, as time goes on, we see him becoming more laid back. Braden LOVES to eat. He is always ready to take his bottle and almost always finishes the whole thing in record time. He burps like a champ too, many times getting it out before we even pat him on the back! While he is still vocal, he is very attentive and aware of his surroundings. He was the first one to really become aware of his toys and start batting at them. He gets a very serious and concentrated look on his face when he is looking at something and you can tell he is really focused on what he's doing. He's not rolling over quite yet, but he's getting there!

Kayla

Kayla, our little princess, is just that. She is sweet as pie and has such a calm demeanor...well with one exception, you don't want to be near her if she is hungry. For her small size, it is nothing short of amazing how loud she can cry. Even Braden and Daniel look at her wide-eyed sometimes! At the same time, Kayla is our biggest snuggler. She loves to be held and cuddled and is so content. She also is a great sleeper. She is the only one still getting up for a middle of the night feeding, but aside from that, she is quiet all night. She is also becoming a little jabber-mouth. Especially in the morning after her feeding, she will lay in her pack 'n play and talk and talk to her little mobile. It seems she is already developing the gift of gab! We were also quite impressed with our little girl this past week as she decided to roll over for the first time! There aren't many things that Kayla has done before both of her brothers, so we were glad to see her one-up Braden this time. :)

In other news, last Sunday we celebrated Julie's first Mothers Day. We had a wonderful day, and the babies even got her some flowers and a card.
